It’s been a long journey for me to understand how to build your business your way. When I first had the idea back in 2018, I knew it was revolutionary. I knew it was where my intuition was leading me. I knew it was part of my essence, but I didn’t know how to put it into practice.

What I did know at the time was that it didn’t make sense for me to build a business that felt draining. The reason I quit my job was that it didn’t fulfill me. I had to come to the realization that the only reason I worked that job was because of the money, nothing else.

At first, when I came up with the Your Business Your Way movement, I didn’t understand what it actually meant. So the questions started popping up…

  • Will doing whatever I wanted to be enough? Or was that simply laziness?

  • Do I still need to follow a successful strategy? Even if it felt a little bit uncomfortable?

  • Can one actually make money doing things their way? Or was that just a fantasy?

For the past 3 years, I’ve experimented with all these concepts. I’ve had mind-blowing success and faced soul-crushing failures. I’ve had times when I doubted that it was even possible to build your business your way. Every year I got clearer and I will continue getting clearer in the process.

What I’ve uncovered throughout this journey is wisdom that’s worth passing down. Even to those that aren’t my paying clients. That’s why I’m writing this.

Your Business Your Way is possible for everyone!

It’s important to acknowledge that Your Business Your Way is possible for everyone. Yes, even you. It doesn’t matter where you come from, what you look like, or how much money you have. You can build Your Business Your Way.

In fact, everyone should build their business in a way that lights them the F up! Otherwise, why even go through the trouble of setting up your own business? It’s much easier to find a job with a guaranteed income that doesn’t light you up. (Though I’m well aware that nothing is guaranteed nowadays, especially for millennials like me)

The importance of self-trust

Your Business Your Way is all fun and games until we get to the nitty-gritty of it. Which is self-trust, the root of confidence. One must know what lights them up and trust they can make money doing that. That’s the only way to actually build a business that lights you up.

That trusting aspect has been the hardest part of this entire journey for me. Most people grow up being told what to do and how to do it. This means that most people do not get to learn to trust themselves when they’re young. If they don’t choose to work on this trust later on in life, they’ll never actually trust themselves.

Doing things because you love them is enough

On top of that, most people don’t even know what they want. They’ve built their lives based on what everyone else recommended as the next step. Finding a way to make as much money as possible. As a result, most people around the world become slaves to money. Leaving them unhappy and unfulfilled.

How to select the best business strategy for you

Your Business Your Way turns this whole system on its head. Instead of pursuing money, I encourage my clients to pursue what makes them happy. Instead of giving someone a strategy to become successful, we first figure out what they like to do. From there we come up with a strategy to support what they want. It’s that simple.

“There are so many ways to build a successful business. One can always find a strategy to support what they want to achieve.”

Following your bliss

The idea of following your bliss was first introduced to me through Rhonda Byrne’s books. To me, it felt exciting yet not fully possible. Following my bliss felt like it would mean that I would be a lazy bum for the rest of my life. So it took me years to integrate the idea into my life. Now that I have done it, it’s interesting how much I’ve achieved while feeling like it was too easy.

“Follow your bliss and the universe will open doors for you where there were only walls.”

― Rhonda Byrne, The Secret

I can tell stories after stories of great success that came from me following my bliss. Here’s one…

In early 2020 I learned about a form of active meditation using a 3-part breath called Breathwork. It provided such a deep healing connection to my intuition that I continued doing it. By the end of 2020 while in a group session, I got the desire to become a Breathwork Facilitator.

At the time it didn’t make sense to me. “Why would a business coach need to use such a tool?”, I thought. Nonetheless, I went for it.

I got my first breathwork certification in February 2021.  Two days later I was on a coaching call with someone that won a call with me. While on that call I felt an urge to offer her a Breathwork and Business Coaching package. That package didn’t even exist at the time. When I told her about it, she seemed interested. So the following day I send her an offer for my Breathwork x Coaching package. She said yes.

This was simply me following my bliss. It’s incredible to see the amazing results she’s experienced from this package. What’s even more incredible is that she paid me exactly 3 times what I paid for my first Breathwork training. Which then also covered my next 2 certifications.

What about success leaving clues?

Success leaves clues. This is a quote that’s often used by business experts and coaches. At times in a manipulative way to get people to follow whatever strategy they’re trying to teach.

Truth is, success does leave clues. It’s through learning from these clues that we can shorten our journey to success. That’s why I’m sharing my success with the Your Business Your Way movement. It may seem revolutionary. Yet, it’s what every expert has done to create the strategies they teach others.

If the strategy they’re teaching was average, it wouldn’t have been unique to them. They had to break some business strategy rules to create their own unique systems.

The only reason why strategies work

The only reason why business strategies work is because people believe they will. Without that belief, one will not fully put it to work. This is why we see some of the most random strategies out there work. Like coaches selling these 7 types of products.

After choosing a strategy, all that’s needed is belief. It’s this belief that things will work that makes it work. This is where coaching often helps. The coach’s job is to hold space for the client. To believe that the strategy will work even when the client struggles to believe it.
