Putting in the work while struggling to get clients is freaking frustrating! That was my story for a long time. I used to cringe seeing coaches celebrate hitting $10k or celebrating six-figure years. Especially when I knew that coach started coaching after I did. For a long time, it felt like I was a turtle on the freeway and everyone was zooming past me...even those on foot.

A change of attitude was necessary

First I had to change my attitude. Instead of hating on the coaches that were succeeding, I had to figure out what they were doing that I wasn’t. There was clearly something different. Through years of trial, error, experiments, and observations, I figured it out. The difference between successful and unsuccessful coaches boils down to structure and energetics.

The importance of structure in getting clients on repeat

A building without structure will collapse. The same goes for a business without structure. Not every structure looks the same though. There are historical structures, regular structures, and innovative structures. It's the same for business.

The coach gets to decide which structure best fits them

As a business owner, you get to decide on what type of structure best fits your desires. That's the whole premise of your business your way. For some coaches, their business structure may look exactly like some business experts. Very traditional and yet lights up the coach's soul.

Then there are coaches who've built their business in a more innovative way. With a hodgepodge of strategies combined with their own creativity. That's how I chose to do it. Nonetheless, there's still a method to what may seem like madness.

The role of energetics in getting clients consistently

Besides structure, the energetics also need to be in order. That means having the space to receive clients. On the physical, mental, and emotional levels.

Making space for clients is easy to explain on the physical level. Clients need to be able to pay, sign contracts, and receive what they signed up for. This also includes having the time to serve all the clients one desires. That's all logical. Yet, there are coaches who want clients without having the space to receive them.

On the mental level, making space looks like having one's beliefs in check. Adopting beliefs that align with the number of clients the coach desires. While removing the limiting beliefs holding one back from consistent clients.

When it comes to emotionally making space for clients, it often boils down to inner healing. Doing the inner healing has completely changed my business. It changed how many clients I get, how I work with them, and the results they experience. Besides, it also changed how easy it is to receive clients.

Getting coaching clients should be relaxing

Truth is, the hustle is not required. Neither is forcing, pushing or overworking. Both structure and energetics do not require hustle.

The first time I realized this was with one of my own clients. She's been a client on and off ever since 2018. I noticed that she was working less, stressing less, and had less strategy in place than I did. Yet she was getting clients on repeat and I wasn't.

What did she have more of than I did? She had more structure, more belief it was possible, and more inner healing happening. So I replicated all that and the results were consistent clients for me as well.

Getting coaching clients is as simple as I made it sound. In essence, it’s about making a way to receive clients. This includes removing the barriers standing in the way. Just because it’s simple doesn’t mean that it’s not a lot to take in and embody. There are shifts in the unconscious mind that need to happen. Which is not always easy.
