Voxer Coaching: How to Get Clients to Use Voxer

One of the big hurdles before transitioning into offering Voxer Coaching is; how to get clients to use Voxer. Not going to lie, this was a big hurdle for me too. Especially since I work with clients who struggle with tech in their business.

It took me a while to decide to switch to Voxer Coaching. Then it took me a bit longer to set up the welcome package in a clear way. So that it’s understandable even to those who are technologically challenged.

Will people switch to Voxer to receive coaching?

There’s no clear yes or no answer to this question. In practice, I’ve never had someone say no to my coaching because they didn’t want to get the Voxer app. Neither have I ever had someone have trouble with downloading the app.

However, I’m sure there are people who resist switching or downloading another app. Hence, they haven’t signed up with me. I’m ok with that. Voxer Coaching is by far my favorite way to connect to my clients. It makes me happy. When a coach is happy, they’re better able to provide exceptional service.

Since Voxer Coaching makes me happy, I attract clients who also enjoy this form of coaching. If it’s truly a hurdle for them, I do have packages that include Zoom access. If that does not work for them, then it was not meant to be.

At the end of the day, as humans, we’re usually willing to get uncomfortable to get what we want. This is a similar conversation when it comes to pricing coaching offers. Especially high-ticket coaching.

How to explain what Voxer is to clients

Let’s be honest. Nobody in my day-to-day life knew what Voxer was before I told them about it. Voxer is not as popular as WhatsApp. Even WhatsApp is not known to everyone.

Voxer is one of those niche apps that certain industries use. This means that there’s a good chance that (potential) clients might not know what the app is. For this reason, it’s important to explain what Voxer is to them.

For my VIP Day of Voxer, I put a simple blurb on the sales page that explains Voxer. It reads as follow:

“What is Voxer? Simply put, Voxer is a walkie-talkie app that allows us to exchange voice and text messages. If you already know how to communicate through a messaging app, you can use Voxer. It’s easy peasy lemon squeezy!”

Feel free to check out the sales page for yourself. If you really want help setting up your Voxer Coaching offer, book a VIP Day of Voxer and we can get that sorted out together.

Besides explaining what Voxer is, I recommend creating content explaining its benefits. Which I go through in this blog post.

What to say for people to get set up on Voxer?

As mentioned before, this was something that took me a long time to figure out. Yet, the wording is super simple.

What I send to my clients in order to get them set up:

Get set up on Voxer:

Find me at @heysheedia* on Voxer and send me a quick “hello” message.

Don’t have a Voxer account yet? No worries, it’s free!

Download Voxer on the App Store or Play Store and set up your account.

An account can also be created on a computer by going to voxer.com/individuals

Once you’re all set up, search for @heysheedia* and send me a quick “hello” message.

*Add your own Voxer username

Onboarding and welcoming Voxer Coaching Clients

Here are the important things to send new clients in order to onboard and welcome them into your coaching package:

1. How to set up the app

(see script above)

2. How to contact you

(see script above)

3. Your availability

Here it’s important to be clear what days and times they can expect to reach you on Voxer. For most of my packages clients get unlimited access to me. I always tell them to expect an answer between immediately and 24 hours. For the VIP Day of Voxer package, I will never take more than an hour to answer back. Since clients only get 10 hours with me.

4. It’s a great idea to let clients know that there’s an option to turn off the default Hold and Talk option.

When this is turned off, people can tap on the Vox Button once to record and once to stop recording. Instead of holding that button the whole time.

To turn it off, go to Settings >> Audio >> toggle Hold and Talk off.

Want to test Voxer Coaching out?

Let’s connect. Download Voxer on your device and send me a message at @heysheedia. We can briefly test it out so you’ll know how it works. This can help you make a better decision whether or not you want to use it as part of your coaching. It will also provide you with an example of what it’s like to work with me on a VIP Day of Voxer.
